You are exploring the Discontinuity Index, a place where any details or rumours about unreleased stories are forbidden.
Please discuss only those whole stories which have already been released, and obey our spoiler policy.

This page is for discussing the ways in which Sleeper doesn't fit well with other DWU narratives. You can also talk about the plot holes that render its own, internal narrative confusing.

Remember, this is a forum, so civil discussion is encouraged. However, please do not sign your posts. Also, keep all posts about the same continuity error under the same bullet point. You can add a new point by typing:

* This is point one.
::This is a counter-argument to point one.

... and so on.
  • If the Sleepers cannot be pierced, then how does Beth have ear-rings?
She probably got them from the same shop that serves Claire Bennet'
(if you look at 24:03, when Beth is about to be frozen, you can see that they are proper ear rings, not clip-ons).
Possibly she got them before her protective force field was activated as a simple part of her disguise, false memories and all.
It would have been in the Sleepers' interest not to be discovered, so it is possible the force field was deactivated while her ears were being pierced so as not to arouse suspicion.
  • Why are all the sleepers in Cardiff? Surely they would spread themselves out in order to make the invasion more successful?
The Sleepers came to Earth through the Rift, they may have been attempting to secure the Rift and open it with the nuclear missiles in order to summon the invasion force. As not knowing how many they truly are, they could be used for another story Arc.
It is entirely possible that their discovery by Torchwood brought their plans forward, forcing them to activate in Cardiff.
Only the Cardiff cell was activated. It could have been a bluff, but the last sleeper clearly indicates there are others - and they could be anywhere in the world.
  • The sleeper agent stabs Jack right through his chest yet he doesn't die, no blood leaks out of his wounds and no blood has stained the Sleeper's blade.
Jack can't die -- did you really not know that? It's kind of an important part of the show.
Depending on the circumstances of the death, Jack can die momentarily (or sometimes for several days as seen in End of Days (TV story)) before being brought back to life.
The Sleeper's blade was still held in place, blocking the bloodflow. When it was pulled out, some blood appeared on Jack's shirt, seeping through, but he'd had time enough to heal quickly afterwards.
That makes no sense, blood would appear on the blade as it tore through his blood veins, and he should have been killed by the stab wound, because the blade went through his chest where his heart and lungs are which are vital organs and plus he can't heal that quickly otherwise he would have healed from being stabbed in Exit Wounds.
Jack doesn't need that, he simply can't die. He can even survive being blown up from the inside. Perhaps the delay in Exit Wounds was caused due to being drunk.
  • One of the sleeper agents is shown to be a mother pushing a pram. How could she have a baby when it was implied earlier in the episode that Beth could not have children due to her situation as a non-human sleeper agent?
Its possible she was a nanny or adopted the baby.
