Varzald the Pitted was a Chelonian soldier. During his early years, he travelled extensively. He never became comfortable with other species, finding them difficult to read. At some point, he was branded a criminal and fell out of favour with the God-Mother.
At some point before the 27th century, Varzald was invited to an auction by Fegovy for The Face of Humanity and had been granted a provision by the God-Mother. In reality, he intended to sell the Face to other bidders at five times the price. Though he won the auction, Miss Monodine disrupted the auction, attacked Fegovy and later killed Varzald. (PROSE: Fegovy)
