Leaving the briefcase and making an escape to the TARDIS the Doctor and Romana watch on the scanner as the case is opened and releases a fluctuating [[chronon ]] rapidly degenerates those in close proximity. The Black Guardians trap is foiled.

The Seventh Segment was a Fourth Doctor comic strip released in the Doctor Who Magazine Summer Special 1995.

The tracer brings the Doctor, Romana and K9 to the politically corrupt colony world of Vyga 3.
