| Don't jump the gun, folks. I just removed a comment "presuming a 2011 Christmas special". Aside from being waaaaay premature, if such a special is announced, it will be part of Series 7, just as the 2010 special was announced in the context of it being Series 6. If it's handled differently (as was Series 4 which actually saw two Christmas specials filmed during its production schedule) we'll know in due course. But the production of the 2010 special hasn't even begun yet. [[User:23skidoo|23skidoo]] 18:59, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

| Why is the information about the 2010 Christmas Special on this page. In the past the Christmas Specials have always been classed to the previous series. Therefore this needs to be removed and be placed on Series 5. -- [[User:Michael Downey|Michael Downey]] 21:38, March 27, 2010 (UTC)

| :Not sure I follow you, here. Christmas specials are the beginning of the new series. 2005 is the start of 2006 series; 2006 the beginning of the 2007 series, and so on, with the 2009 specials being a bit of an oddity. From a production standpoint, all but the 2008 special have been filmed after a hiatus, so they're clearly not a part of the previous series in terms of production. In terms of marketing, they've '''all''' been in the box set of the next year's stories. And it will be no different with the 2010 special. It's not going to be on the series 5 box set, which will clearly come out before the special is even made. Series 1 I would say was the originals but then again series 1 started again when it was 'remade' in whateveryearitwasthattheyhad chistopher eccleston for one series. pointless thing that was. they shouldn't be allowed to quit after one series. | It has been confirmed by Stephen Moffat that Rory will be a regular in this series; in DWM 426 he talks of the series split and the "enormous, game-changing cliffhanger for the Doctor, Amy '''and Rory'''", and Neil Gaiman confirms he wrote for Rory in DWM 427. | It's very unlikely that the Christmas special will be straight on following the third Adventure Game for a few reasons.
| |
| | |
| 1. Rory is going to appear as it is their honeymoon and there is no Rory in the games
| |
| | |
| 2. The special is going to have a Christmas Carol twist and I heavily doubt that there will be a shark from the 23rd century there.

| ===Omega===
| |
| | |
| Why do people keep insisting that Omega will return? I've seen the rumors, and that's all they are obviously, flying around all through the build-up for Season 5 and now, not 24 hours after the finale to Season 5 has aired, people are once again insisting that Omega will return in Season 6. '''Let us remember that Omega is a Time Lord and all the Time Lords are gone, except The Doctor'''. I know, I know...they brought back The Master (why wouldn't they? he's been a recurring ''Doctor Who'' foe for a long, long time) and, very briefly, Rassillon, but that was only for a two-part finale episode. Omega does not qualify as a major foe, and in all honesty doesn't deserve to come back (my opinion only). Let's stop the Omega rumors. [[User:ScoutDaddy70|ScoutDaddy70]] 15:00, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
| |
| | |
| | |
| | |
| *Omega could come back because he's in the antimatter universe, and may not have even partisipated in the Time war. He could be breaking through to this universe again and thats whats causing the cracks, it just a possibility. [[User:evilyoda|Evilyoda]] 19:28, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
| |
| *I understand all that, however, for it to be an actual "spoiler" it needs to be based somewhere, somehow, on some facts. Has there been discussion of Omega from Moffat? Have the actors let slip anything? Or is all this Omega talk just the talk of fans hoping it is Omega? That's what I mean. Are people just wishing or are there concrete facts to back up this rumor? [[User:ScoutDaddy70|ScoutDaddy70]] 11:59, June 28, 2010 (UTC)
| |
| *Episodes 6 & 7 revolve around clones of the Doctor. Given that Omega tried to use the Doctor's DNA previously to create a body to escape, he could be using them as a means to try and return. ([[Special:Contributions/38.103.168.4|38.103.168.4]] 06:39, April 2, 2011 (UTC))

| | |
| | |
| | |
| There's no evidence in canon to support specifically the return of Omega whatsoever. It's just a rumour made up on the turd of a website that is Gallifrey Base with no evidence to support the assertion. It shouldn't appear in the article, or even the Big Bang one if we're to stay true to Wiki principles. [[User:Blightsoot|Blightsoot]] 12:16, June 29, 2010 (UTC)

| | |
| | |
| | |
| I agree you shouldn't bring Omega back. He is an old series enemy, and Moffat is trying to create new enemies. The only old enemies he'll bring back are Daleks, Cybermen, maybe The Master and then only the old monsters that were in the alliance (though most of them may not return). Omega is unlikely to return.[[User:Fallen5|Fallen5]] 14:00, July 3, 2010 (UTC)
| |
| | |
| | |
| | |
| In one interview (I don't remember where) Moffat referred to the Silence as being plural. This would seem to discount that idea that Omega is the Silence. If Moffat ever did bring back a character like Omega, he would probably do it in the same way he handled the Dream Lord/Valeyard connections, with implied rather than explicit links to the actual character from classic Who. But I'm pretty sure the Silence is something entirely new. [[User:Bluebox444|Bluebox444]] 12:51, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

| | |
| I agree. Yes Rasillon and The Master have both returned at least once (The Master 5 to 6 times) but Omega has absolutley no
| |
| reason to return. Unless at least one person that has anything to do with the making of Series 6 is in love with the episode
| |
| that has Omega in it (which I doubt and I havnt seen it so I cant really explain this too well so dont comment on this)
| |
| I believe that almost everyone that had something to do with the show all together has forgotten almost completeley about him,
| |
| sort of like with amy and rory before the season finale. What I want to know is how the doctor escapes, Amy comes back to life
| |
| , how rory regained control, and how the girl the doctor told to fly the TARDIS to his location (I cant remember her name)
| |
| survives the explosion, and my biggest question about series 6... How the tardis returns from the ashes of the explosion.
| |
| If anyone has any ideas on how or finds something that mentions something about any of these questions please dont hesitate
| |
| to post them.
| |
| | |
| | |
| | |
| Well I think it would be rather difficult for Omega to return since he was destroyed when Patrick Houghton's flute fell into the Tardis's forcefield generator (making it not converted to anitmatter), and when Omega knocked the forcefield generator out of Houghton's hands the anitmatter and matter collided and collapsed the blackhole that led into the anitmatter world, turning it into a supernova.≤DreamMaster≥
| |
| | |
| The 2nd Doctor's recorder somehow didn't kill him, because he was in [[Arc of Infinity (TV story)]]. Doctor Who kills off villains, and then brings them back all the time. Davros died in almost every episode he was in, The Master died in a few episodes of the classic series, the TV Movie, and twice in the new series, the Daleks were completely destroyed in most of their ninth and tenth doctor episodes. In Doctor Who, just because an enemy has been completely destroyed, it doesn't mean they will never return, so Moffat could bring back Omega if he wanted to.Icecreamdif 22:03, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
| |
| | |
| It is possible that Omega could return as he is all powerful and highly intelligent. And any all powerful and highly intelligent being who's worth his or her stuff, will always have a get out plan or several. [[User:Son of Icthar|Son of Icthar]] 16:52, January 2, 2011 (UTC)
| |
| | |
| It could be plausable as Omega created the Eye of Harmony hence controling the TARDIS so he may return to this universe. This could explain why the series 5 finale was full of parallel universes. He could of blew up the TARDIS so he could slip through the cracks. Omega may also send the TARDIS to go back to the time war and Skaro. This would explain the Skaro rumours.

| ==Myths printed in widely-read sources==
| |
| I noticed that some of the rumours which have been debunked have been removed. Of course we can't keep track of all the rumours and it makes sense to cull some of the ones that prove to be false. However, I wonder if there should be an exception for media with a large distribution - if only to record that a mistake was picked up by outside media and widely reported. For example, the rumour about Joanna Page appeared in the Daily Star, a printed newspaper which claims 1,701 million readers (is that comma for a decimal point? Is that common in the UK?) The rumour about Matt Smith leaving was also picked up by Virgin Media on their TV News web video, and I'm not sure where to stand on that one - although I think the rumour itself can probably be traced back to one blog. These rumours won't count as unsourced, as you can cite where they were found - but they're not true. Where do we stand on these? [[User:TheangelJean|the angel Jean - Smith's little elf]] 11:45, July 26, 2010 (UTC)
| |
| | |
| *I've put them back. Nothing, save vandalism, should be removed without discussion first. These rumours should stay. They're actually important. We're here to document things related to Doctor Who, including rumours about the show, that's why we have the section. I mean, Matt Smith leaving. That's a ''really'' important rumour, and should stay. I have no idea why it was removed. We keep them ''all'' until the series ends, otherwise people who don't visit often read the sources of these rumours, then add them to the page and we simply have to remove them again. It's just easier to keep them until the series airs. [[User:The Thirteenth Doctor|The Thirteenth Doctor]] 17:35, July 26, 2010 (UTC)
| |
| | |
| **Should the rumour about Joanna Page, printed in the Daily Star, be put back in then? I mention this because the previous editor, who removed the other rumours, had previously lost an argument about the same thing - he said that the rumour about Joanna Page should be reinstated, but despite this the rumour was removed. So I can see why he would have been confused about what should stay and what should go. For consistency, the rumour should be reinstated (as a debunked one, in the Rumours section) ... right? | ***No, that rumour was for a series which is past. Everyone knows that she didn't appear, so they won't be adding it to the series page as they know she didn't appear. | |
| | |
| I'm wanting to add this rumour. The original source for the above teasers is [http://doctorwhotv.co.uk/41-teasers-from-doctor-who-series-6-9870.htm here] and number ten states "''4 August 1982 – Happy Birthday, Ma’am.''" Fourth August was the Queen Mother's birthday, and the Ma'am implies it is a queen or someone of royalty. Also, number 39, "''Octavian wasn’t lying.''" implies that he meets Octavian again. Any objections to adding these? [[User:The Thirteenth Doctor|The Thirteenth Doctor]] 16:57, October 2, 2010 (UTC)
| |
| | |
| Octavian does not return. Not that I know of. Number 39 "Octavian Wasn't Lying", means that what he said about River killing a man was true. That could be something we find in Series 6 next year. [[User:Who7|Who7]] 09:33, October 3, 2010 (UTC)
| |
| *What exactly says he isn't returning? Octavian wasn't lying can refer to several things, including the "I think you know me at my best". This line implies he was worse off and that the Doctor would meet Octavian's past self. --[[User:The Thirteenth Doctor|The Thirteenth Doctor]] 11:13, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

| == The Case of Writing the Finale? ==
| |
| | |
| It says that Steven Moffat will write 6 Episodes this Year INCLUDING A Christmas Carol.
| |
| | |
| ... This would, therefore, imply that he is one Episode Short of writing the Finale:
| |
| #A Christmas Carol
| |
| #Series Opener: Pt.1
| |
| #Series Opener: Pt.2
| |
| #Cliffhanger: Pt.1
| |
| #Cliffhanger: Pt.1
| |
| #<One Episode>
| |
| Therefore, he cannot be writing the Finale unless he is only writing one of 12 or 13.
| |
| | |
| Is there any clarification on the case of who's writing what, or if the 6 Episode information is wrong?
| |
| | |
| 1.Please sign your posts and 2. Yeah; 12 & 13 are a two parter so the 6 episode thing must be wrong. Unless someone else is writing the finale... [[User:Alpha111|Alpha111]] 22:00, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

There's still weeks left, and in that time all we'll get is a load of people adding in rumours or vandalising, plus red links then going off, creating character pages that will need to be changed because the character's name in the show is different to the reported one, and those pages could have rumours or be vandalised as well, not to mention they would all be spoiler articles, and with spoilers being something we try to keep out of the central hub of the wiki, wouldn't be a good idea. --[[User:The Thirteenth Doctor|The Thirteenth Doctor]] 22:23, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

| | |
| How could River possibly be Jenny. Apart from how weird it would be if the Doctor's daughter was flirting with him, the Doctor would be able to sense if River was a Timelord. Also, Jenny didn't regenerate when she got shot in The Doctor's Daughter, and Jenny and River look nothing like each other. The only theory that makes less sense than River being Jenny, is River being the Doctor. That would be against the First Law of Time, River needed a vortex manipulator to travel through time instead of a TARDIS, River is a woman, the Doctor never calls himself to ask for help, and she didn't realize how early it was in the Doctor's timeline in Silence in the Library. River Song is a new character, not an old character in disguise.[[User:Icecreamdif|Icecreamdif]] 23:01, March 27, 2011 (UTC)

| If you noticed in the Impossible Astronaut promo poster, you can't really see the sonic screwdriver. Only the green diode, so that leads me to believe that he has gotten a new one (since the other one was destroyed in the christmas special). Do you guys think that's the case? | == Susanne Jones as the Doctor's wife? ==
| |
| | |
| It says under casting notes that the character of Idris in ''The Doctor's Wife ''will play the Doctor's wife. This statement needs to be removed immediately as it has no basis in fact at all. For one thing, the source it states I have looked at, and all it is is an article reporting on the naming of Gaiman's episode, and pointing out that Susanne Jones (playing Idris) has been speculated to be playing the Doctor's wife, and this now looks likely. There is no official confirmation at all.<br />
| |
| Furthermore, the statement says that the '''character''' of Idris (not Susanna Jones, who plays her) will be playing the Doctor's wife "co-incidentally" (what is that suppoosed to mean!?) but the reference says the actress. Please, someone delete or change this. [[Special:Contributions/82.42.249.145|82.42.249.145]] 20:36, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

| : I've removed it, but somebody keeps adding it back in. Maybe we should consider protecting the article again? [http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/User:Whoisdrwho | Who is Dr. Who?] 19:50, March 30, 2011 (UTC)
| |
| :: Thanks for trying :-) Who keeps putting this back in! It has been clearly pointed out that the source is not valid as it doesn't back up the statement, and even the statement itself gets the character Idris mixed up with the actress! Can someone make sure that this doesn't keep getting added back in? Or, at least, change it so it makes more sense, and move it to the rumours section (as there is no confirmation that Idris is the Doctor's Wife). | In Silence in the library or what ever part 2 was. River said her second to last time with the Doctor she mentioned a new suit and the Doctor has a new suit in episode 12..[[User:Joshoedit|Josho]] 01:49, March 29, 2011 (UTC)

| :: Well one of the rumours is "River will die this series".. Maybe it could be reffering to the death in silence in the library and the whole suit thing leads into that.. If you get what I'm saying...

| |

| In the Offical Series 6 trailer at 0.38 it seems the 9th and 10th doctor's Tardis seems to be in Series 6 as an explosion is seen in the heart of the tardis. As well as a figure which looks like the 10th doctor.[[User:The mysterious|The mysterious]] 20:36, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

| Grr! The "Confirmed Cast" section says that previous Doctor's not returning "may prove false due to rumours and the new trailer". This should not be there! If it is a rumour then it shouldn't be in the confirmed cast section, and (as pointed out above) there is no evidence in the trailer either - just Rory! The TARDIS may be a mistake, like seen in The Time of Angels when tne Doctor rescues River. [[Special:Contributions/82.42.249.145|82.42.249.145]] 07:24, April 1, 2011 (UTC)

| Can a senior admin please talk to this guy. He is a brand new admin and I think he is abusing his powers. He keeps reverting an edit without explanation. I asked him to read the talk page first and he refused. He simply reverts the edit without making any comments. It has already been pointed out that a particular rumor is bogus and he insists on putting it back. I will not get into an edit war with this guy, but I can really use some help. | Really? Come on. I'm not removing it as it will just be reverted. Can someone please take care of this? Can we do something about all the baseless rumors being posted on this page? [http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/User:Whoisdrwho | Who is Dr. Who?] 23:40, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

| Don't you mean Eighth Doctor? I added that rumor and its not made up completely, it has a source. Anyway, what is your explanation for the Tenth Doctor's TARDIS appearing in the series 6 trailer? Looks like a regeneration happening to me and I its either the Eight Doctor regenerating or the Tenth regenerating. I don't think its the Ninth regenerating. Gryffindor1991 16:54, April 1, 2011 (UTC)

| :Please look at the history. It said ninth doctor. Somebody fixed it, just like I asked. Thank you. [[User:Whoisdrwho|Who is Dr. Who?]] \ [[User_talk:Whoisdrwho|Talk]] 17:44, April 1, 2011 (UTC)

| :Well I must have just made a typo and said Ninth. At least its fixed now, sorry about that. I understand what you mean. McGann as the Ninth Doctor? That would make no sense. Gryffindor1991 05:15, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

| ==Tidy up bullet points==
| |
| We really need to tidy up the amount of bullet points in this article. Tidy them, Condense them, combine them, whatever, but we have WAY to many. [[User:Fan555|Fan555]] 18:08, March 31, 2011 (UTC)
| |
| | |
| :Erm. No. There nothing wring with the bullet points. Each pint represents a different piece of information, which is why we have them as bullet-point. Also, it's easier for people to read. All this article does at this stage is give quickfire information, once the Series is over, we then deleted, combined and merge the appropriate information. Too many bullet-points is better than very few, large paragraphs. [[User:Mini-mitch|Mini-mitch]]\[[User talk:Mini-mitch|talk]] 18:12, March 31, 2011 (UTC)

| == tenth doc's tardis ==
| |
| | |
| it could be possible that it isn't the ninth/tenth's tardis but just another room in the current tardis.
| |
| | |
| You can see the TARDIS console, so it is definetly a console room. Since the Eleventh Hour strongly implied that the Eleventh Doctor's console room is the same room as the Ninth and Tenth, but repaired after the explosion, then the room in the trailer is the Ninth and Tenth Doctor's TARDIS, unless there are 2 identical rooms in the TARDIS.[[User:Icecreamdif|Icecreamdif]] 18:42, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

| Moffat placed a line in Time Crash where the console room had a "desktop theme", its likely the theme just gets set back to "coral" from the current steampunk version. --[[User:Revanvolatrelundar|Revan]]\[[User_talk:Revanvolatrelundar|Talk]] 20:23, April 4, 2011 (UTC)
