Note that it has been discovered that additional spaces have been discovered within the DWA run, but only sometimes.  The previous issue fields all were in the format of [[DWA 1]], but the ''next'' fields were in the format of DWA  Issue 2, with an extra space.  This still, for reasons I don't quite understand, created a valid link, so any regex expressions with magazine issues must now include the syntax "\[\[DWA( *)Issue" to account for this extra space.  The DWCC and DWDVDF runs didn't check for this additional space, so there ''may'' be some redlinks out there.

CzechOut/Magfix is a temporary page designed to keep track of the rather massive task of:

  1. Renaming every magazine issue page in the format: [acronym] [number], as in DWM 1.
  2. Replacing every instance of [[ [acronym] Issue [number] ]] with just [[ [acronym] [number] ]]. Put simply, this step is the process of making sure that links to issue numbers link to the new page name, not to a redirect.
  3. Making sure that all issues are within a category called, [acronym] issues, as in category:DWBIT issues, rather than just hanging out in a big, undifferentiated category about the magazine as a whole. This is useful, as with category:Doctor Who DVD Files, to distinguish between those things that are issues and those articles that are not.
  4. Deleting the old redirects. So, getting rid of DWM 1, once it is completely unlinked, at least in the main article space. (No effort will be made to correct the user or forum namespaces, for instance.)
  5. OPTIONAL STEP: If a magazine is ongoing, altering the preloadable outline so that it reflects the current nomenclature. template:DWA issue/preload, for instance, requires repair to take into account that the base name of an article is now only 7 letters long.

Fully complete

When all three of these steps are completed, then a title may said to be "completely converted", and no further action will be taken upon them.

The following magazines have been completely converted to comply with Tardis:Manual of Style#Magazine issues:

  • Doctor Who DVD Files
  • Doctor Who Insider (well, this one's easy, but the proper structure has been laid down. I do need to do the optional bit on this one, though. Its preloadable hasn't been created yet.)
  • COMIC
  • DWAN
  • COMIC (got rid of not only things like DWUS Issue 1, but also the very old nomenclature Doctor Who (USA) Issue 2)
  • DWM
  • COMIC
  • Torchwood Magazine
  • DWMSE

Mostly complete

The following magazines have been converted through point three.

Problems

Note that it has been discovered that additional spaces have been discovered within the DWA run, but only sometimes. The previous issue fields all were in the format of DWA 1, but the next fields were in the format of DWA Issue 2, with an extra space. This still, for reasons I don't quite understand, created a valid link, so any regex expressions with magazine issues must now include the syntax "\[\[DWA( *)Issue" to account for this extra space. The DWCC and DWDVDF runs didn't check for this additional space, so there may be some redlinks out there.
