*There is a Utah plate that is similar but it has "UTAH" in bold letters at the bottom and is no longer issued by the state. (http://dmv.utah.gov/licensestandardissue.html) The easiest way to tell is for someone with a better tv than me to pause and discern if the state name is on the license plate. If not it is a forgery by the production crew. And why go to all that trouble?
Go back and watch last season's episodes, and the Moffat episodes during the RTD era. They're all chock-full of numbers that seem really significant, but usually aren't. All the 0's throughout season 5, and all the countdowns, didn't pan out to anything. The closeup freeze-frame on Rory's badge with an anachronistic date on it meant nothing. There are big points made about people's ages in half the episodes, and jokes in half the rest (and, in The Beast Below, one of each). And so on. Oddly, I don't remember numbers figuring in any of Moffat's pre-Who writing, but that probably doesn't mean anything; there wasn't much technobabble in Coupling either. He's writing sci-fi, so he writes differently. I suspect the answer may just be, "I write numbers now. Numbers are cool." --[[Special:Contributions/99.33.26.0|99.33.26.0]] 07:36, May 5, 2011 (UTC)
I'm sorry but whoever started this disscussion has looked into it to much. the lisence plate is fine, the lights on the bus idea is kinda ridiculous, the numbers on the envelope have been explained and the year is a year.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I've noticed several things in the episode The Impossible Astronaut that make me believe numbers will be very important in season 6.

  • The license plate on "old" Canton Delaware's truck when he arrives is not a license plate. It's not even a poor British attempt at an American license plate. It is an all white placard with a string of about 7-8 numbers starting "147...".
  • The light reflected from the school bus carrying Amy and Rory at the beginning don't look right. Watch as it passes the hill in shade. Appear to be ones and zeros associated with binary computer code.
  • The numbers on the envelopes.
  • The year 1969.

That seems a lot of odd or important numbers. I'm guessing these will significant towards unravelign the deeper mystery of season 6. Perhaps a code in the mode of Bad Wolf. After all, River and the Doctor enjoy communicating in the base code of the universe as they did when the Doctor launched himself and the Pandorica into the exploding Tardis.

If I'm right the trouble will be in decoding the number message and also deciding which numbers are relevant. Is the year 1969? Bus number 51? Age 1103? Canton Delaware the Third? There are lot of numbers. More than I picked up I'm sure. Also, what is the message? Who sent it? Who is supposed to recieve it?

Pure speculation. Sorry if it has already been pointed out.
