| Forgive me if this is out of line, I'm still very new to all of this, and I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but shouldn't there be a disambiguation page here, with one leading to the show and the other to the agency?
| | == Series 5 reveal == |
|
| |
|
| --The Professor 02:47, 16 July 2006 (UTC) | | So since there's been an official Series Five reveal on Big Finish's numerous media outposts, it's probably time to mention it here on the page. Furthermore, is a spin-off series under production treated the same as a DW series here on Tardis? For example, before Series 10 of Who was even broadcast, the page for it existed with spoiler warnings. So is it time for us to consider creating Series 5 (Torchwood) with all the information we have. If that's just reserved for DW series, then that's fair enough. I'd like to hear some verification on the matter of policies from admins and also what everyone thinks on the matter. | We may need to do this when the series starts, depending on what Jack and his team actually call themselves; somehow I don't imagine they'll be referring to their operation as the Torchwood Institute (we already know they're a "rogue" group). -- Guybrush 01:19, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

| ::Yeah, I asked that before I'd had a good look around and realized that just about everything is canon. Not entirely sure if I like that as it tends to get overwhelming, and some of it, especially the book series' tend to retcon whenever they feel like it. It certainly does keep it simple! | :::I don't think we need to worry about the books so much. As far as I'm concerned, the TV series is the only absoloute canon, and the Torchwood series doesn't really tend to introduce or change any many new concepts. Taccer 07 22:08, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

| ::::canon policy for this Wiki says books count just as much as the television series. (the Whoniverse has a pretty loose and vague definition of canon, BTW, compared to other universes.) also, I think that the television series have gotten pretty well documented elsewhere on the web. --Stardizzy2 15:08, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

| ::::Everything that isnt a parody is canon. thats no different to other scifi shows. take any show, if it isnt a parody, its in. I'm A Hydroponic Tomato! Bigredrabbit (talk to me) 09:22, May 19, 2010 (UTC)

| ::::Not technically true - 'Who' refuses to state it's canon, allowing the audience to decide; other big franchises, have stated what is and isn't - Star Wars; everything film, published and games is - Star Trek;only TV and films are. It is better the 'Who' way I think. Torchwood would be in the highest degree of canon though, being an official TV series.Baziel 16:17, June 13, 2010 (UTC)

| There were some things here dating back to 2006 that were not only outdated, but incorrect, plus a lot of other things that needed tweaking. I've given the article a once-over and a bit of a nip and tuck. 23skidoo 15:32, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

| ===Cast List===
| |
| | |
| As this page is for the series as a whole, I don't undertand the idea of looking back at 'former' cast from a contemporary perspective. Shouldn't Owen, Tosh and Ianto still be under main cast, something like this:
| |
| | |
| Main cast
| |
| * Jack Harkness - John Barrowman
| |
| * Gwen Cooper - Eve Myles
| |
| * Owen Harper - Burn Gorman (series 1-2)
| |
| * Toshiko Sato - Naoko Mori (series 1-2)
| |
| * Ianto Jones - Gareth David-Lloyd (series 1-3)
| |
| * Rhys Williams - Kai Owen (secondary cast series 1-2, main cast 3-4)
| |
| | |
| Secondary cast
| |
| * Andy Davidson - Tom Price
| |
| * Martha Jones - Freema Agyeman
| |
| | |
| I've also included Freema, as her name appeared in the opening credits of the episodes she appeared in.

| I've added Kai to series 4 as he is already an established character, but I'll wait to see the opening credits of 4 before deciding who's going to be main and secondary.
