His other works include Breaking the Mould, Grange Hill, Wire in the Blood and Mistresses.
After working on Doctor Who, Hoar notably worked with Phil Collinson and Russell T Davies on the show It's a Sin.

Hoar was gay. This was part of why he was brought onto It's a Sin, as Collinson and Davies felt it would be beneficial to have other gay creatives on such a project.[1]
