In [[2011]], while his mother was away for the weekend, Alfie met his father's friend the Doctor, who had the ability to speak to him. Alfie was taken with the Doctor and Craig when they were investigating the [[Cyberman]] invasion, and at one point Alfie was accidentally transmatted onto a Cybership. That night, he was looked after by the Doctor while his father was at the store. The Doctor put Alfie to bed, and spoke to him about his own impending death and explained to Alfie that, as a baby, he had his whole life ahead of him. Alfie and the Doctor were attacked by a [[Cybermat]]. Alfie was carried outside by the Doctor, who then went back inside to rescue Craig from the Cybermat. Alfie was left with a store clerk the next day when his father went to find the Doctor and help him fight the Cybermen. When Craig boarded the Cybership, however, the Cybermen decided to [[cyberconversion|convert him]] into a [[Cyber-Controller]]. Luckily, Alfie began to cry during Craig's conversion. Hearing his baby cry not only re-awakened Craig's emotions, but in turn, caused all six of the Cybermen to start feeling again.
