The Timeline originally tried to place this between two short stories in one of the Short Trips books. This doesn't work for several reasons. First, the Short Trips stories aren't necessarily linear in order. But also, the short story cited was based upon the ''stage play'' continuity, not the audio drama continuity. So for the audio drama all we can say for certain is that it happens after the Sixth Doctor travelled with Evelyn Smythe and before his regeneration (we can't even say Mel's first story since we don't know if there weren't gaps where this audio could have occurred). The fact Evelyn is referenced means this can't be seen as a straight performance of the play; it's a new adaptation set in a different continuity.
