Please fix the size of the quotation marks around the quotes, they are way too big and interfere with the pages' format. Thank you. [[User:Doug86|Doug86]] [[User talk:Doug86|talk to me]] 01:34, November 14, 2011 (UTC)

== Redlinks on Dark Skin ==
On the light skin (white background), this template is very clear. But on the dark skin (dark blue background), the links are very pale blue and hard to read, but the redlinks are almost impossible with a very light shade of pink. The best option might be to change the background colour to something that works for both skins. --<span style="text-shadow:0 0 5px #00FF00;">[[user:xensyria|xensyria]]</span><span style="text-shadow:0.25em 0.25em 0.12em #00FF00;">[[user talk:xensyria|T]]</span> 14:48, June 11, 2017 (UTC)

:Right. Thanks. That's something I've noticed too... I think that's because the template basically treats all source links as ''external'' ones at the moment. (I've no idea what the <code>el</code> in the source code is supposed to be.)
:@[[User:Bongolium500|Bongo50]] has made a version that works with both ''internal'' and ''external'' links; it's in [[User:Bongolium500/quote|the sandbox]] they linked a little above here. There seemed to be some other problems, though, looking at that conversation...
:I'm pretty sure I've fixed ''some'' of them at [[User:JSmith5504/Quote|User:jsmith5504/Quote]] — the whole <code><nowiki><span class="author"></nowiki></code> is now omitted when both <code><nowiki>{{{2}}}</nowiki></code> and <code><nowiki>{{{3}}}</nowiki></code> are omitted — but [[User:SOTO/Forum Archive/Help!|the page]] @[[User:NateBumber|n8]] cited seems to be broken still. No idea how to fix that, or if it's even the fault of {{tlx|quote}} at all.
:I'd replace the template here with either of our versions, or something else new that does the same thing... Just so that it would definitely work on ''most'' pages. I don't know, though.

no links to the page the quote is on[[edit source]]

how about:

{{#ifeq:{{{3|{{PAGENAME}}}}}|{{PAGENAME}}||<sup class="noprint">[[{{{3|}}}|[src]]]</sup>}}

instead of:

{{#if:{{{3|}}}|<sup class="noprint">[[{{{3|}}}|[src]]]</sup>}}

or is there a better solution? -- Q1712 23:39, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

had another idea:

showing the source written out source, in that case it would be a link ot bold text:

{{#if:{{{3|}}}|<sup>[ [[{{{3}}}]] ]</sup>}}

i know that you had xour reasons for hiding the text, but as there is a lotta work generated by reedeting quotes it may be a alternative again. looking forward to get to know your opinions -- Q1712 (talk | contribs) 15:38, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Quotation marks too big[[edit source]]

Please fix the size of the quotation marks around the quotes, they are way too big and interfere with the pages' format. Thank you. Doug86 talk to me 01:34, November 14, 2011 (UTC)

Source links broken[[edit source]]

Ok so I don't really understand how this works so I don't know how to fix it, but the links that should look like "[src]" aren't working correctly and display like "[Doctor Who Wiki [src]]" - CodeAndGin | 🗨 | 18:52, 27 June 2024 (UTC)

@Bongo50 has made a version that works with both internal and external links; it's in the sandbox they linked a little above here. There seemed to be some other problems, though, looking at that conversation...
I'm pretty sure I've fixed some of them at User:jsmith5504/Quote — the whole <span class="author"> is now omitted when both {{{2}}} and {{{3}}} are omitted — but the page @n8 cited seems to be broken still. No idea how to fix that, or if it's even the fault of {{quote}} at all.
I'd replace the template here with either of our versions, or something else new that does the same thing... Just so that it would definitely work on most pages. I don't know, though.
