Lucius was a caretaker of a villa in 1st century Italy (PROSE: Romans Cutaway) which belonged to Flavius Giscard. (TV: The Romans)

In 64 AD, Lucius was looking after the villa whilst Flavius was away campaigning in Gaul. On one day, he was wounded by a lion and died in the arms of the First Doctor and his companion Vicki, who had come to explore the villa.
