Ian Hayles voiced Kevin Lee in the Big Finish's UNIT audio story Snake Head, Lance-Corporal Burridge in the Big Finish Doctor Who audio story No Man's Land and Sam Kirke in The Architects of History.

Big Finish were evidently one of Hayles' first professional employers, as his first television appearance seems to have been on a 2010 episode of Coronation Street. In 2011, he had a major role in the independent British time travel film Chronoslexia.
