Swann was the leader of Ramón Salamander's underground community of scientists.

In 2018, he found a newspaper from the previous year and learned that Salamander had been deceiving them about conditions above ground. He confronted Salamander, who offered to let him come to the surface while he explained. Salamander stabbed Swann, but he managed to reveal the truth to Astrid Ferrier before dying of his wounds.
