Also, as a reminder, this wiki does not try especially hard to support Internet Explorer. You're recommended to switch to Firefox, Safari, Chrome or browsers based on their cores. {{user:CzechOut/Sig}} 02:22: Tue 06 Mar 2012

IndexTech notes → Opera officially not supported by Wikia
Spoilers are strongly policed here.
If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.

Opera is not supported by Wikia, according to recent emails from Wikia Staff. Following the changeover to the not-so-new-anymore editor, I've been sending in Opera-specific bug reports. Earlier this year, Wikia simply flatly said that they don't support Opera.

That said, Opera still broadly works, according to testing done with the latest versions of both the PPC and Intel versions of the Mac client. In many ways, in fact, Opera is still quite a snappy li'l browser. But it's still got problems with the whole of Wikia. The main issue with the PPC version is that it doesn't play nicely with the lightboxes, meaning that you can't start a new article, except by clicking a redlink. There are also some interaction problems when trying to login and when looking at the magnified versions of pictures. Later, which is to say Intel, versions of the Mac client, have fewer interaction problems.

Longer term, however, because Wikia (no longer?) supports Opera, it's probable that we'll make fewer efforts to support the peculiarities of Opera with our CSS. This, in turn, will mean the site will look increasingly different in Opera than other browsers.

Also, as a reminder, this wiki does not try especially hard to support Internet Explorer. You're recommended to switch to Firefox, Safari, Chrome or browsers based on their cores.
