John Lennon was a Liverpudlian musician known for his sole in the The Beatles before starting another band with his wife Yoko Ono. His work is one of the most widely known and studied music of the late industrial era and early information age.

The Doctor and his companions watched John Lennon and the other Beatles perform their song "Ticket to Ride" on the Time-Space Visualiser. Vicki commented that a museum dedicated to the Beatles existed in 25th century Liverpool (DW: The Chase).

In 1969, Ace prevented Lennon and the other Beatles from being assassinated on the roof of the Apple Records building in London. However, Lennon was later shot and killed by Mark David Chapman in New York City on December of 1980 (NA: The Left-Handed Hummingbird).
