Ahmed was a servant of Professor Marcus Scarman during his expedition to Egypt. He warned Scarman not to open Sutekh's tomb, but his warning went unheeded. (DW: Pyramids of Mars)

It remains unknown as to what became of Ahmed afterwards. Although he appears to survive in the television version, according to Terrance Dicks's novelisation of the story he and the other Egyptian labourers were murdered by Ibrahim Namin's men on fleeing the tomb.
