Don Houghton (2 February 1930-2 July 1991) wrote the Doctor Who stories Inferno and The Mind of Evil. In addition to his work for Doctor Who, he also wrote several episodes of Sapphire & Steel.

His wife Pek Sin Lim played Captain Chin Lee in The Mind of Evil while their daughter Sara Houghton played Dr. Samantha Madigan in SJA: The Curse of Clyde Langer.
