Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy was a Count and envoy in the Russian Army. He was put in charge of Ace who he believed to be a British spy. He falls in love with her, and was annoyed when she got transferred to another prison. Before she left, she kissed him. She took him hostage and travelled to St. Petersberg. When she left him she called him 'writer man' because she knew that he was to write War and Peace in the near future. (BFA: The Angle of Scutari)
