Colin Andrew was a penciller and inker on four Doctor Who Magazine comic strips. He drew one of the final Seventh Doctor comic strips before DWM started telling "past Doctor" stories between 1994 and the release of Doctor Who (1996). He is the only artist to depict Romana II, Ben and Polly outside of their appearances in annuals contemporary with their appearance on television. He is also the only artist to depict Steven and Vicki in any comic strip. Moreover, Andrew is the most prolific penciller of the First Doctor since William Hartnell relinquished the role, having drawn half the stories to have centrally featured him in a non-parodic adventure,
