Commander Lerox was a Sontaran serving on the mining vessel Betrothal of Sontar on the planet Serac.

Lerox was not like other Sontarans. For one thing, he had a conscience and he saw Colonel Snathe's plan as completely mad. This was proven correct when he and Rose found a shrine constructed in Snathe's quarters. He defended Rose from Snathe who attempted to shoot her and he didn't enjoy hunting the Inuks like the other Sontarans did. He also showed a respect for females and a disgust of cold-blooded murder.
