Chris Hardwick is an American entertainer who has advanced the interests of nerds within American popular culture. He has partially used his influence with the American media to raise the profile of Doctor Who in the United States. A frequent guest on The Late Late Show, he has helped host Craig Ferguson contextualise Doctor Who for the CBS audience.
The host of The Nerdist Podcast, and its televised cousin on BBC America, he has interviewed guests such as Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Barrowman. His relationship with BBC America has also made him the "face" of the network at some American events, such as Comic-Con, where he has served as moderator of several Doctor Who panels. He has also appeared in several BBCA-made documentaries about Doctor Who. In 2012, he began to actively participate in BBC America's marketing campaign for the programme. Notably, he helped the network promote their newtoWHO campaign.
