I've removed the merge tag as there's enough difference between this article and Telepathic circuits. I've also added a cleanup tag to telepathic circuits to highlight the need to separate their various functions. --Tangerineduel / talk 08:01, September 6, 2012 (UTC)

Wondering about this bit "The translator continued to work after Rory Williams was transported into the past by the Weeping Angels. (TV: The Angels Take Manhattan)", surely that's impossible to tell, Rory is a native English speaker, they speak English in New York. Am I forgetting some bit where someone talks to him in something other than English where the Translator circuits would be relevant? Should this be merged with Telepathic circuits? Nightsky 03:04, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

I agree that it should, two articles is just redundant. A unified article should mention the translation as a function and side effect of the telepathic circuits Timelords use to communicate. RadiusRS 16:35, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
It still should. They were named "telepathic circuits" in Classic Who and afterward. Merge template placed. Rob T Firefly 01:22, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
Strongly disagree with merge proposal. The telepathic circuit article has been written incorrectly. It proceeds on the false assumption that telepathic circuits were translation circuits and that's not really true. They're related, sure, but there's no reason to break up a much better-written article like this just because the two topics are sort of the same. The relationship between translation and telepathic circuits is not unlike that of stout to beer. All stouts are beer but not all beers are stouts; all translation circuits must be telepathic circuits but not all telepathic circuits have to do with linguistic translation. Basically, that article needs to have all the bits about the translation circuit edited out of it. That would mean that that article would consist of just its (current) first and last paragraphs. Then it needs to document every instance of the words "telepathic circuits" being used. Most of the new series sources cited at that article do not, in fact, contain the words "telepathic circuits". Do the new series (or in fact any sources) actually call the the circuits that do the translating "translating circuits", as I'm quite sure "telepathic circuits" has been used, but the actual phrase "translation circuits", I'm not too sure. --Tangerineduel 12:42, December 16, 2010 (UTC)

Merger removaledit source

I've removed the merge tag as there's enough difference between this article and Telepathic circuits. I've also added a cleanup tag to telepathic circuits to highlight the need to separate their various functions. --Tangerineduel / talk 08:01, September 6, 2012 (UTC)

Angels Take Manhattenedit source
