The Doctor and Rose head to another planet to try and find some more guests from Platform One …
Summary
Having found a useful book on power-boosted transmats in the Reading Dome the Doctor and Rose arrive at Gameworld Gama, a hunting location owned by Mr and Mrs Pakoo, hoping to pick up the trail of Lectra-energy leaks, which seems to have occurred around all their recent landings. When the Doctor discovers humans have been brought from a pet shop, and are being used in the Royal Hunt, the Doctor insists the games stop. But before he can flash his psychic paper ID, the Pakoo guards attack. Rescued by the surviving humans the Doctor and Rose make their escape, dropping his psychic-paper as they head to the swamps with the Pakoo guards in pursuit. The Pakoos aeriel attack is thwarted by the Doctor using his sonic screwdriver to ignite the swamp gases. The Huntmasters however manage to catch them up and having found the Doctor’s ID, which reads as personal assistant to President Kaakaa herself, apologies and offers them assistance. The Doctor orders them to send the humans home and returns with the Huntmasters to deliver a warning to Mr and Mrs Pakoo, only to find they too have disappeared – but this time leaving a trail for the Doctor to follow.

Original Print Details
Installment, publication title with page count and closing caption.
- 5/6 Doctor Who: Battles in Time (Issue 5) (4 pages) TO BE CONTINUED!!!
- No reprints to date.
Notes
- Supporting the series of collectable Doctor Who trading cards, the magazine title, carried a regular 4 page, individually titled comic strip series of the Tenth Doctor’s adventures.
- Style wise, the artwork and colours were bold and bright reflecting the tone of the magazine and, as with Doctor Who Adventures (Magazine), it reflected the appeal to younger readers than that catered for by Doctor Who Magazine.
- A Moxx of Balhoon figure is also seen attending the Hunt, even though the Moxx was NOT a survivor of Platform One! (Big clue to the mystery)

References
- “The Battles in Time comic strip often sought to reinforce the Doctor character with that as seen on screen by utilising various ‘props’ used in the TV series. Namely; brown suit and longcoat, sonic screwdriver, psychic paper and his intelligent glasses.
- In this strip the psychic paper is used (to identify the Doctor as a personal assistant to President Kaakaa herself) and the sonic screwdriver is used to ignite marsh gasses. The Doctor has previously used his sonic screwdriver to ignite marsh gases in the TV story Carnival of Monsters, while trying to escape the Drashigs in the Scope.
