The Royal House of Gadarel was one of the ruling families of the Drashani Empire. After the death of a mad emperor, both Gadarel and Sorsha tried to take control. When the Fifth Doctor encountered the Drashani Empire, it was losing to Sorsha. It was originally led by Valdon Gadarel, but he was killed in battle, leaving behind Princess Aliona.
