Elton John was a male singer from the planet Earth.

Peri once disdainfully likened a statue of Eros she had recently seen to the visage of Elton John. (DW: Planet of Fire) Elton Pope also made reference to him on his personal videolog, going so far as to include a clip of John singing in an attempt to differentiate himself from the singer. (DW: Love & Monsters)

Elton John wrote the music for and sang the original recording of "Circle of Life" for the Earth film, The Lion King. The Tenth Doctor accidentally quoted lyrics from this song during his confrontation with the Sycorax. (DW: The Christmas Invasion)
