Cabin steward (The Chase) (1849 – on or about 25 November 1872) was the cook and steward aboard the Mary Celeste on her voyage from New York City to Genoa, Italy, in November 1872. (TV: The Chase)

On the 25th of November, Head was below decks, attending to his customary duties, while the rest of the crew searched for the presumed stowaways, Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton whom First Officer Richardson had discovered. As a consequence, Head was unaware when Daleks materialised on the Mary Celeste’s deck in search of the Doctor's TARDIS. The Daleks' appearance frightened everyone aboard into immediately abandoning ship. Head was the last crew member to leap from the gunwale. Neither his remains nor those of anyone else from ship were ever recovered. Like the others, Head is assumed to have perished on or shortly after 25 November 1872. (TV: The Chase)

Behind the scenes

Unlike Captain Benjamin Briggs and Albert C. [sic] Richardson, Head is identified in the credits simply as "Cabin Steward".
