Novelisation
- This novelisation is based on the original television serial generally referred to as DW: The Seeds of Death which was shown from 25th January 1969 and written by Brian Hayles
- The cover and information shown on the right is for the original Target novel and featured the artwork of Tony Masero. (See below for information on other UK and international editions which published with a different cover).

The Doctor discovers that the T-Mat Base on the Moon has been taken over by a group of Ice Warriors, led by the villainous Slaar. Their home a desolate and dying planet, the Martian invaders see Earth as a world ripe for conquest.
