Hey :) Thanks for trying to improve the quality of an image.  However, it's important to remember that in the process of improving, you can't then break a [[T:ICC|local image convention]]. Your improvement unnecessarily pushed the size of the image over 100kb, which is our size limit for most images.  The quality difference is so marginal, that breaking this rule can't really be justified.  Another important thing to remember is that the only image quality we care about is the way the pic displays '''at 250px'''. (Why 250px? Because that's the largest width at which a pic will be displayed on a page.)
If there's no obvious improvement '''on the article page itself''', then there is no reason to improve the quality of the image.  Don't let this stop you trying to improve images, however, as there are ''many'' of our images which could obviously be improved, even at thumbnail width! {{user:CzechOut/Sig}}{{User:CzechOut/TimeFormat}} 16:05: Fri 15 Nov 2013</span>

Image upgrades

Hey :) Thanks for trying to improve the quality of an image. However, it's important to remember that in the process of improving, you can't then break a local image convention. Your improvement unnecessarily pushed the size of the image over 100kb, which is our size limit for most images. The quality difference is so marginal, that breaking this rule can't really be justified. Another important thing to remember is that the only image quality we care about is the way the pic displays at 250px. (Why 250px? Because that's the largest width at which a pic will be displayed on a page.)

If there's no obvious improvement on the article page itself, then there is no reason to improve the quality of the image. Don't let this stop you trying to improve images, however, as there are many of our images which could obviously be improved, even at thumbnail width!
