The Sun-singers of Akhet was a star system of seven planets. Its inhabitants worshipped the Old God, the sentient planet of Akhaten. They believed that life in the universe originated there, though the Eleventh Doctor, Clara Oswald and Merry Gejelh proved that this theology-which the Doctor called "a nice story"—couldn't possibly have been correct.

A key feature of the system was the Holy Pyramid, a holy site located in a small asteroid within Akhaten's rings. (TV: The Rings of Akhaten)
