Instructions for {{Spelt}}
{{spelt}} — also, {{spelled}} — allows you to notify an admin that you've made a spelling mistake on a file upload. It's very important that you alert an admin to simple spelling errors in filenames so that people can later find your files. It'll take people longer, for instance, to find file:The Brian of Morbius DVD UK cover.jpg than File:The Brain of Morbius DVD UK cover.jpg.
Only admin have the power to move files from one name to another, so it's important to have a method of signalling that you need help.
Usage
This template is super easy to use.
- Go to the offending page in the file namespace.
- Click the "Edit" button at the top of the page.
- Put
{{spelt|correct title}}
on a page in the file namespace. - Publish.
- You're done!
Example
Ooops! I done it wrong.
The name of this file has an obvious spelling error. The name should be The Brain of Morbius.
