Trask and he smuggled weapons from France to Scotland, but Trask betrayed him to the English and seized control of his ship. Mackay was to be transported to a Caribbean plantation as a slave, but with the Second Doctor's help, he regained control of his ship and took his former fellow prisoners to safety in France.
