The Slight Façade was the eighth story in the Bernice Summerfield anthology Missing Adventures. It was written by Magnus Anderson.
Summary
Benny uses the alias Sarah Bishop to snatch a book from the University of Belgravia, discovering that it contains a short story that purports clues to a buried treasure somewhere in the British Isles. Joined by Professor Ravel Calabrio after he learns the book's would-be thief actually has benevolent intentions for it, they begin a search for the prize. Unfortunately, they are hounded by the disgruntled Regal Professor Salim Barr, eager to disprove the treasure's existence and settle the score with the other professor over a bitter love triangle.
