I just thought about something regarding the doctors family.
1-When he left gallifrey, what happened to them and did he even think about how it would affect them? 2-Why out of all his family was Susan the only person he took with him. 3-When the doctor returned to gallifrey in later stories, especially when he became president TWICE, why did we not see his family then either? 4-How does the doctor having relationships with other women (i.e. river song as his wife, queen liz the first as wife, rose as his unrequited lover, all his female companions he has kissed and romana-a fellow time lord), fit in with the fact he had a wife and had at least one child and at least one grandchild(susan) to her. Did he never think how this would affect her?--Coop3 ☎ 22:51, July 3, 2013 (UTC) We obviously don't know why he left them, but he obviously did. And they obviously died in the Time War. Maybe the Doctor's family died before he "borrowed" the TARDIS and flew away. He only brought along Susan because there was only Susan left to bring along. Imamadmad (Contact me) 08:39, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
That seems unlikely for all of them especially since the doctors mother appeared in the end of time as the old woman. Now I know it wasn't confirmed in the final cut but Russell t davies created this character as his mother so he must have at least thought that one would survive. It just seems weird thinking about the doctor being a father and a grandfather as well as a young man with several wives and parents. I wonder what age they are since the doctor is over 1,000. --Coop3 ☎ 21:59, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
- We don't really know how Gallifreyans would think of things like marriage and such; for all we know, their culture could perceive polygamy as the proper form of partnership. Actually, now that I think about it, that would kinda make sense considering that a lot of them are time travelers with spouses that, due to the nature of time travel, can be dead one day and fifteen years old on the next. This is a long one so pay attention: At the earliest point in Gallifreyan history that anyone remembers, Gallifrey was ruled by the Pythia. Rassion, Omega, and one other overthrough the Pythia, but the last of the Pythia cursed the new Gallifreyan leaders (not Time Lords; however they probably lived about 10,000 years att most) with sterility. This caused Rassilon's wife to have a miscarriage. Rassilon, to prevent their extinction, created the looms. Omega went on a mission to give them time travel, which proved to be fatal (sort of) and created the first black hole. The other was exposed to massive amounts of artron energy, thus making him the first Time Lord. Rassilon made himself the first President of the Counil of the Gallifeyans (now Chronarchs). The Other lived eight lives during which he had a granddaughter, named Arkytior. The Other used a regeneration transfer to bring Rassilons unborn daughter back to life. He then told his grandaughter to flee Gallifrey and cast himself into the looms. The last part of the Other's name was 'lungbarrowmas' so they named one of the looms 'the House of Lungbarrow'. Many years later descendants rassilons daughter had Koshei who was taken to the Academy. Meanwhile more cousins were produced from the House of Lungbarrow.
