The Sahara Desert was a desert located in Africa. The Eleventh Doctor visited the desert with Clara, where he met the Djinn, being controlled by the Alien Camel. (COMIC: Santblasted).
The Tenth Doctor described the Tandocca Scale as infinitely small, like finding a speck of cinnamon in the Sahara. (TV: The Stolen Earth)
