Astro-raptors were a species of multicoloured savage birds with large beaks, a loud screech and a particular liking for chocolate, or flesh. They were known to the Eleventh Doctor by their reputation as space-birds that invaded worlds by raining down in eggs that hatch and then they would eat everything in sight.
When they invaded an English village one Easter, they were lured onboard the Doctor's TARDIS by the Doctor and a local games teacher called Pippa. The Doctor took them away to be resettled on an alien world with plenty to eat and floating islands on which to perch. (COMIC: The Egg Hunt)
