The Very Cool Bow Tie! was a Doctor Who Adventures comic strip published in 2011.
Summary
The Doctor is out to impress Amy Pond and Rory Williams with his new bow tie. It has a perception filter that makes people think that bow ties are cool! Unfortunately Rory and Amy aren’t impressed. They are dressed up in ‘princess’ and ‘knight in shining armour’ costumes, which doesn’t please him.
To prove his point, the Doctor takes the TARDIS to somewhere it will work. Swinging the TARDIS doors open on an alien world and announcing “Bow ties are cool!” doesn’t have the desired effect. Very soon he is being chased by a mob determined to wrestle each other and anything in their way to get to the bow tie! The Doctor can't find the off switch and is rescued by Amy and Rory from the crowd. In the fight to grab the bow tie, it is ripped apart and breaks, releasing the crowd and returning things to normal.
The Doctor helps tidy up the mess, realising that bow ties can be dangerous “…. because they are so cool!”
