Veganite was a blue mineral found on the planet Vega VI. It was mined as a power source for Project Infinity. Only a meager amount was collected before the Daleks invaded Vega VI and enslaved the population, stripping the world of the mineral. With a vastly larger amount of Veganite, the Daleks opened a dimensional rift, scan the various dimensions for the one they wanted, where the Daleks had total control, and even bring a battalion of Daleks from that particular dimension.
