Kaled Dome

The Kaled Dome.

The Kaled Dome was the home city of the Kaled race on Skaro, with the Thals, their enemies, living in the Thal Dome across the wastelands. The dome held thousands of Kaleds. Buried underneath the dome was a bunker, the location of Davros and the Kaled Scientific Elite for most of their time. When the Thals launched their missile, the bunker remained unharmed but the entire Kaled dome was destroyed. (DW: Genesis of the Daleks)

Thousands of years later, the Daleks returned to find Davros (whose destroyed tissue had been regrown while his body was in suspended animation) in the hopes that he could reprogram their battle computers as a solution to winning the Dalek-Movellan War against the Movellans. Using a combination of robot drills, explosives and slave labour, they were able to retrieve him. (DW: Destiny of the Daleks)

The Dalek Prime in EDA: War of the Daleks claimed that this event was basically staged on a planet called Antalin as part of a plot to trick Davros and the Doctor into destroying Antalin and not Skaro during the events of DW: Remembrance of the Daleks. Such revelations in War of the Daleks proved controversial among fans. It is possible that the Dalek Prime was lying.

It is possible that the Daleks later rebuilt the Dome into the Dalek City. Even if, in the original timeline before the Time Lords intervened, the Dome had never been destroyed, it may still have become the Dalek City. (DW: The Daleks)
