Re Merchendise
Hello,
Me again.
The Wiki I have the most experience with is:
http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Main_Page
They used to be on Wikia but moved on after a dispute about Wikia's advertising.
A few notable features of this Wiki are:
* Multiple universes -  The franchise has been rebooted multiple times and some tales have been explictly labelled "what if" scenarios.
* There is no clear primary source for information (Comic, TV show, Toy bios)
* They allow and encourage humour as long as it doesn't interfere with the transmission of information.
See http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers_Wiki:Policies
I'm not advocating adopting these policies since obviously since this isn't a one size fits all deal (also I don't have the history with this Wiki so its not cool to throw my weight around).
I like the idea that a Wiki can be a one stop reference for anything relevant to a subject. I feel like the critera for inclusion in a fandom Wiki should probably have something to do with either official recognition or strong fan support.
Information about Doctor Who merchandise was something I expected to find in this Wiki when I stumbled across it and indeed much content about merchandise already exists. See Character_Options_action_figures - this wasn't linked to from the Character Options page so I have started some articles which contain duplicate information. Whoops, I'll have a go at cleaning up the mes tomorrow (need slep for work tomorrow).
PS Could you please clarify for me the usage difference between the stub tag and the gone to pot tag?
Thanks for the dialogue.

Assault Dalek

Hi Tangerineduel, just a quick email about the deletion of the page Assault Dalek.

While I can see your point that this Dalek might not be considered a true variant but rather using a different arm attachment (presumably they are modular) I believe that this page should exist given that a toy was released by Character Options under this name. At the very least I think this deserves to be redirected to somewhere sensible.

Could you please drop me a message and tell me what you think. I am new to this Wiki and would value your guidance.

Re: Assualt Dalek

Hello again, thanks for the quick reply.

Merchandise is not explicitly mentioned on the canon policy page.

In most fandoms and idea of of secondary canon exists to cover events and concepts that exist in licensed works but have not been shown on TV (which most would consider primary). Clearly as the BBC has licensed Doctor Who to Character Options and has final approval over everything they release there is a certain amount of officiality (if I can use that made up word) about their products. They are clearly not fan fiction or fanon.

Perhaps there should be a top level category for merchandise.

I am aware of some of the funny Dapol oddities such as the green K-9 and the two armed Davros and would really like to see them covered since they are a somewhat amusing and fascinating footnotes in Doctor Who history.

Re Merchendise

Hello, Me again.

The Wiki I have the most experience with is: 1 They used to be on Wikia but moved on after a dispute about Wikia's advertising.

A few notable features of this Wiki are:

 • There is no clear primary source for information (Comic, TV show, Toy bios)
 • They allow and encourage humour as long as it doesn't interfere with the transmission of information.
