The term "spider germ" is not in the episode. Is there an out of universe precedent for this or is this a completely conjectural title?

Spider germs were bacteria-like creatures that lived on the moon. Their main food supply came from feeding off the creature inside the moon, similar to bacteria from Earth. They took the appearance of spiders, and attacked humans when they made sudden movements. (TV: Kill the Moon).
