A reactor core was the central component of nuclear power plants.
In order to restore himself, Eldrad had Driscoll take his hand through the reactor room and into the reactor core of Nunton Experimental Complex. The human was vaporised and Eldrad absorbed enough radiation to assume a full humanoid form. (TV: The Hand of Fear)
