Kahler-Mas was one of the Kahler scientists who performed hideous experiments on members of their own race, in order to turn them into cyborg war machines. He was killed for his war crimes by Kahler-Tek, an experimentee who malfunctioned in battle and was not shut down at the end of the war. (TV: A Town Called Mercy)
