Fascism was a political ideology. It advocated strength through national or racial unity under a powerful centralised government, often incorporating social Darwinism or eugenics as ideological components. The Falange, who fought on the Nationalist side during the Spanish Civil War was fascist (PROSE: History 101) as was the British Union of Fascists who governed the Republic of Great Britain on a parallel Earth. (TV: Inferno)
In 1963, Mike Smith was secretly a member of a fascist group called the Association, which was led by George Ratcliffe. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks)
