The Sahara Desert was a desert located in Africa. The Eleventh Doctor and Clara Oswald were caught in a sandstorm in the Sahara which had been created by an alien camel. (COMIC: Santblasted).

The Tenth Doctor described the Tandocca Scale as infinitely small, like finding a speck of cinnamon in the Sahara. (TV: The Stolen Earth)
