Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy were a popular comedy duo who made films together from 1926-1952[source needed]. Their films involved comic storylines getting their characters in silly adventures. Rory Williams was a fan of their movies, but Amy Pond was not.

The Eleventh Doctor placed himself into The Flying Deuces, one of the pair's films, to get Amy and Rory's attention. (TV: The Impossible Astronaut)
