Michael Brandon (born 20 April 1945 in Brooklyn, New York, USA) played General Sanchez in the Doctor Who television story The Stolen Earth. He also portrayed CP Doveday in the Big Finish Doctor Who audio story Lurkers at Sunlight's Edge. Michael Brandon also played the part of Lt. James Dempsey in Dempsey and Makepeace; three years after he finished the series, he married his co-star, Glynis Barber, and the two of them moved to the UK. He was the narrator of the US broadcasts of the children's television series Thomas & Friends from 2003 to 2012.
