Detective Inspector Bishop was a policeman working in London in 1953. Together with Crabtree, he was under orders to abduct the faceless victims of the Wire to keep them out of sight during the coronation of Elizabeth II. Despite his orders, he was keen to investigate the reason for their appearance and assisted the Tenth Doctor by filling him in on what they had discovered. He also confronted the Wire at Magpie Electricals, but had his face stolen. It was returned to him when the Doctor defeated the Wire. (TV: The Idiot's Lantern)
