Kirith was the home planet of the Kirithons. It had one moon and was the only planet orbiting a red giant in a galaxy known to humans as QSO 0046. It had high levels of artron energy.

History

Kirith was originally a dead planet. The Panjistri came there in Kandasi (which became the planet's second moon) and populated it with their creations, the Kirithons, manipulating their development as part of their plan to create the God Machine. After Kandasi was destroyed, the Panjistri and the Kirithons were forced to live together. (PROSE: Timewyrm: Apocalypse) At one point, the Time Lords discovered two Physical Temporal Nexuses on the planet. (PROSE: The Spear of Destiny)

Locations

Kirith had several named locations:

  • Kandasi Island (or Kandasi) - Located about a mile from the mainland, it was supposedly the residence of the Panjistri, but was actually just the location of the matter transporter to the real Kandasi. Selected Kirithons and all visitors to the planet were taken there by the Panjistri.
  • Kirith town - the residence of most of the Kirithons, located on the mainland.
  • The Harbours - the bay where the Panjistri disembarked upon arriving at the mainland. It was forbidden to the Kirithons.
  • The Darkfell - the area of the mainland inhabited by the Unlike, which had been poisoned by the Panjistri in an attempt to kill them. It was also forbidden to the Kirithons.
