The Sontaran arm control was used by the Special Assault Squad to adjust their armour's perception camouflage matrix, which made them almost invisible and very difficult to spot.
Commander Kaagh used suche a device. Clyde Langer, Luke Smith and Maria Jackson found it difficult to spot him. (TV: The Last Sontaran)
